Unarmed Combat and Called Attacks

Unarmed Combat

Due to the variation in physiology of different character races, the following guidelines have been written for estimating unarmed combat damage potentials.

Blunt

This sort of damage arises from body tackles, ramming one's head into an opponent, punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing, strikes of a tail, and karate chops. Average damage potential is equal to 1d6 per 10 points of STR possessed by the attacking character.

Crushing

Whether from a bear hug attack, strangulation, the coils of a serpent, or the tentacles of a monster, crushing/constriction damage occurs at a rate equal to 1d6 Damage Potential per minute, for every 10 points of STR possessed by the attacking character.

Sharp

Claws, sharp scaled surfaces, and other sharp cutting or puncturing body attacks. Average damage potential is equal to 2d6 per 10 points of STR possessed by the attacking character.

Poisonous

POISONOUS. When a character's race is of a sort that can poison a stricken opponent (manticore, giant scorpion, venemous reptile, etc.), damage may continue after a successful hit. For the sake of simplicity, a character's venom does 1d6 damage per minute, for every 10 points of CON possessed by the attacking character.

Called Attacks

If a character specifies a particular portion of an opponent as the target of an attack, an additional Task Determination Dice Roll should be performed with the same modifiers as the original attack attempt roll. If it is successful, the specific part of the opponent targeted will be hit. If the strike is to the head, the opponent will be disoriented if the brain is located there. If an appendage is hit, it may prove ineffective until healed. This is the nature of the Called Attack.
